The Impact of Rotor Angle of Attack on BVI Trajectories and Rotor Loading Characteristics

van der Wall, Berend G. (1994) The Impact of Rotor Angle of Attack on BVI Trajectories and Rotor Loading Characteristics. 20th European Rotorcraft Forum, 1994-10-04 - 1994-10-07, Amsterdam (NL).

Abstract

Experimental blade pressure data from a Bo105 Mach scaled model rotor tested in the DNW are used to show blade vortex interaction (BVI) trajectories and the effect of rotor angle of attack on BVI locations. The pressure integration along chord at 3 different radial locations allows analysis of loading distribution in the rotor blade tip area. The redistribution of loading depending on rotor angle of attack is shown.
