Abstract

In this thesis, electrodes coated with Raney nickel and molybdenum catalysts are tested for alkaline water electrolysis. The aim is to characterize the powders. Two different powders are examined, a reference powder (R powder) and a powder developed by KSG (B powder). Uncoated and coated samples were tested in a half-cell measurement with a reference electrode. Before the measurements, the coated samples were activated in alkaline solution. The following measurements were carried out: Polarization curves (Pol), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The polarization curves, the IR-corrected polarization curves, the reaction surface as surface factor, the charge and the double layer capacity are evaluated.
