Abstract

In this thesis, the impact of emerging aircraft technologies and designs on reducing global fuel consumption across the global aviation system is evaluated. A comprehensive fleet network methodology is integrated to project future fleet composition and operations over the coming decades. This approach allows for the assessment of aircraft technologies and the incorporation of operational influences by analyzing a range of different routes within the global route network. This enables a deeper understanding of potential overall efficiency improvements across varied entry into service, fleet composition, and operational scenarios.
