Abstract
The aviation sector is an important part of the world’s economy. It has a significant impact on global economic development and connectivity. The industry has shown resilience over the past century by coping with different crises and developing significantly. However, a new challenge for the industry has arisen from COVID-19. COVID-19 has had a significant impact on air traffic. The effect has been widespread disruption and change in people's lives, daily routines, working environments as well as travel patterns. Consequently, airlines were forced to adapt their strategies and develop new approaches. To manage and deal with potential future crises, this consulting report aims to provide airlines with effective best practices and strategic frameworks. To conduct comprehensive research, this consulting report utilized reliable websites such as the IU library, ResearchGate and ScienceDirect. In order to enhance the information provided in this report, it also used journal articles, books and manuals as secondary sources. The methodology shall include the identification of key topics for each section of a consulting report. The report undertakes extensive research and draws up a detailed report that is updated with relevant references. In addition, the recommendations and frameworks have been developed on the basis of a research analysis. In order to strengthen resilience and take advantage of new opportunities, the report suggests recovery strategies for airlines. In different scenarios such as the handling of hazardous goods, a downturn in economies, pandemics, international conflicts, terrorist attacks and natural disaster events, this report gives airlines best practices and frameworks for managing risks. Recommendations to improve the efficiency of operations are also provided. The objective is to help airlines become financially sustainable and operationally successful in a rapidly changing world by being innovative and adaptable.
