Kurzfassung
Results from the model simulations performed with MECO(n) and PALM-4U within the DLR impulse project ELK, working package AP 4.3 "Air quality in the city of Hamburg", have been presented. The MECO(3) setup consists of a global and three regional instances over Europe (25km grid resolution), central Europe (7km), and Germany (2km). MECO(3) results from the innermost instance over Germany are used as boundary conditions for PALM-4U for the simulation of air-pollutants in the city of Hamburg down to a resolution of 5m for the city center. The use of MECO(3) boundary conditions significantly improves the PALM-4U results when comparing with stations observations.
