Abstract
In the research project presented, the effects of online shopping behaviour on freight transport - primarily on courier, express and parcel (CEP) transport were estimated and shown using the microscopic transport simulation MATSim and the integrated logistics module Jsprit. In the framework of case studies for Berlin, Germany, selected logistics concepts, including same-day and instant deliveries as well as food deliveries were examined and their effects on the urban freight transport and their ecological effects were shown. Based on the results, concrete recommendations for action for transport and environmental policy were derived.
