Abstract

Validation of ISTAR maneuver simulations with experimental data from the HighFly MaGE flight campaign. Compared are global flight mechanics parameters, wing section pressure distributions measured on three wing sections with pMEMS sensors, and elastic wing deformation distribution measured using IPCT. Steady trimmed CFD-CSM coupled simulations for different flight points and dynamic open-loop maneuver simulations (pull-up, push-down, bank-to-bank) are investigated.
