Abstract

Hybridizing solar power plants presents an opportunity to optimize energy production while reducing costs. To fully explore the benefits and drawbacks of various hybrid configurations, a comprehensive understanding of their design and performance is necessary. However, traditional metrics developed for standalone systems are insufficient to capture the complexities of hybrid systems. Therefore, we introduce novel indicators specifically designed to evaluate hybrid solar power plants. These new metrics synthesize normalized performance and design criteria from individual components, enabling direct comparisons between hybrid configurations, standalone plants, and other hybridized systems.
