Kurzfassung
Developing a standardized and repeatable method for measuring Tire Road Wear Particle (TRWP) emissions is challenging due to the many influencing factors. DLR introduces a novel three-step approach: generation, collection, and analysis for measuring TRWP emissions, applied in a chassis dyno setup using a novel housing collection system. This system helps to reduce influence of external parameters which directly effect TRWP emission results. By defining boundary conditions for each step, our method provides a robust framework for accurate, consistent TRWP emissions data, leading to more reliable comparisons between different tires and a foundation for component testing.
