Abstract

This research outlines the development of an advanced Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for real-time mission monitoring within the German Aerospace Center's (DLR) Launch Coordination Center (LCC). The HMI aims to enhance space mission efficiency, safety, and reliability by providing operators with intuitive visualization tools, decision support systems, and interactive capabilities. The development involves collaboration between human factors experts, software engineers, and domain specialists, using user-centered design methodologies like iterative prototyping and usability testing. The interface is tailored to accommodate the complexities of both launch and reentry phases, considering vehicle dynamics, atmospheric conditions, and mission constraints. Advanced visualization techniques, including 3D rendering and immersive displays, are used to improve situational awareness and mission management. This research contributes to improving the safety, efficiency, and collaboration in space missions, representing a significant advancement in space mission coordination and enhancing the success and reliability of future space exploration.
