Abstract

The concept of single camera, multi-aperture (defocused) imaging is revisited. Event-based imaging significantly reduces the raw data stream permitting high speed imaging up to 10 kHz. In-line illumination is used to maximize light scattering by small particle allowing order of magnitude reduction of required illumination source along with small apertures (increased depth of field). In-line illumination is associated with reduced image contrast affecting the event-imaging data rate. Mitigation strategies and imaging/illumination alternatives are suggested.
