Abstract

In this report a new wind tunnel probe support was designed numerically.The support must be able to be used in DNW-TWG, DNW-HST as well as in ETW and this in subsonic to low supersonic speeds. In this context, the greatest challenge is the range of transonic Mach numbers. It is characterised by shock-induced separations which can also lead to shock buffet. This can have an undesirable effect on the flow at the wind tunnel probes. For this reason, flow separations and strong shocks in the field of operations of the support must be prevented as far as possible. With the selected design, this goal was achieved within the limits of the numerical design.
