Abstract

In modern world, rapid urbanization has resulted in a swiftly growing population within cities. This trend is accompanied by an increased number of vehicles in urban area, leading to increased traffic congestion and high demand for car parking spaces. LiMo 2040 is an innovative urban mobility solution designed to address the evolving needs of future urban transportation. This electric, low-speed vehicle is characterized by a distinctive U-shape chassis featuring a front wheel drive configuration. The primary objective of the chassis concept is to optimize parking space efficiency and reduce vehicle population in response to the challenges posed by urbanization. The specification of LiMo 2040 falls under the category of L-category vehicles in accordance with European Union Regulation No. 168/2013. In the process of estimating design space, main focus is given to the essential component, the motor. The sizing of the motor is determined by considering the basic vehicle load force. Available motor options in the market are then sourced and evaluated.
