Abstract

The design process for cooled turbine blades at the turbine department relies on various different tools, each revolving around a different field of expertise. As a result the evaluation of a turbine blades cooling design requires a lot of knowledge in those various fields. To improve user-friendliness and the overall workflow the cooling design evaluation tool Piccoolo is implemented into the turbine design framework GTlab. This paper focuses on the evaluation process of a given turbine blade design in GTlab using Piccoolo while also explaining the basic mature of the data and how it is computed. The process will start with an empty project in GTlab and end with the visualization of the cooling the design evaluation using Piccoolo.
