Abstract

This consulting report offers a detailed analysis of the aviation industry's recovery, after the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, exploring the influence of macroeconomic developments on its recovery path. The report provides a comprehensive evaluation of changes and challenges encountered by passenger and cargo airlines, as well as other industry stakeholders, in recent years, indulging into necessary strategic responses, targeted at guiding the industry's sustainable economic future. Eventually, the report aims to disentangle macroeconomic factors influencing the aviation sector, identifying effects of global developments on industry trends, and underscoring essential adjustments of the industry against the framework of global economic and social progress. The methodology of the report is a key aspect of its comprehensive approach. The report employs a mixed methodology that combines both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including the collection and examination of statistical data, an extensive literature review, and interviews with industry experts. This dual approach allows for a deep dive into the industry's current developments, and a robust forecast of future trends, offering a balanced and cross validated perspective on strategic recommendations for organizational decision-making. Despite shortcomings in recent years, the report predicts a notable rise in passenger and cargo traffic, accompanied by challenges originated in increased operational costs and capacity constraints. The report recognizes the need to face industry predictions in a profitable and sustainable manner, highlighting the crucial role of digital transformation in enhancing operational efficiency and improving customer experience, advocating for workforce diversification to address labor shortages and driving innovation, combined with the importance of proactive government intervention and collaborative approaches to infrastructure development, balanced taxation, and sustainable practices.
