Abstract

Rotor simulation codes from industry as EC, GKN Westland, ECD, and from research institutes like DLR, ONERA, NLR, DERA are applied to high lift operating conditions that include dynamic stall and significant blade torsion. The capabilities of the various codes to simulate these cases with special emphasis on correct airloads, blade response and performance are evaluated. Basis of this study are measurements on a model rotor in a wind tunnel.
