Kurzfassung
The Corona pandemic has led to changes in public life and private consumption worldwide. Lockdowns imposed by some countries during the pandemic have led to an increase in household waste consumption. In particular, the amount of packaging waste has increased due to the increased consumption of packaged products and packaged foods. Even befode the pandemic, statistics on waste and resource consumption have shown an increasing trend, which comes with environmental problems. At the same time, the prevailing production and consumption logic of "take, make, waste", sometimes also described as a "throwaway society". Therefore, this thesis investigates the waste material flows and the stocks of raw materials in the context of city logistics. In this perspective of interactions with the environment, the Circular Economy (Circular Economy (CE)) offers a higher-level model, which supposed to be an answer to this new development- combining economic and policy in order to decouple economic growth and resource consumption and thus to minimize the negative environmental consequences.
