Abstract

Radar systems are an indispensable part of modern technologies and are used in a wide range of applications, from aerospace to navigation and traffic monitoring. An important aspect in the development and qualification of radar systems is to ensure the reliable and accurate detection of targets. Especially for airborne radar systems, which are often operated under extreme conditions, it is crucial that the system is able to perform precise measurements. The present work represents an important contribution to the qualification of airborne radar systems. For this purpose, a radar testbed with an inverse synthetic aperture is built, internally calibrated, and automatically operated with Python. The testbed and the presented method of impulse response analysis provide a solid basis for the further development and optimization of radar systems and thus contribute to improving the safety and efficiency of aerospace applications.
