Kurzfassung

Forces and moments acting on the DLR-F22 model were measured in the transonic wind tunnel DNW-TWG in sub- and supersonic flow. Main purpose of the tests is to investigate the effect of the size of a LEVCON-strake combination arranged ahead of a slender wing. To this end, the DLR-F22 model was tested with six multiswept wing planforms differing in LEVCON span and strake length. The tests are to complement previous pressure measurements with the same model in the same tunnel. Test conditions were chosen to duplicate those studied in the previous pressure measurements so that results can be directly related to each other. In particular, the Mach number was M = 0.50 – 2.00 and the angle of attack, α, was varied in the range of 0° ≤ α ≤ 30°, mostly at 0° and 5° sideslip. In addition, the angle of sideslip, β, was varied at constant angles of attack up to β = ±10°. The Reynolds number, that was not explicitly changed, was in the range 1.75 – 2.45∙106, depending on Mach number. A complete compilation of all tests is provided and results are briefly reviewed and exemplarily discussed.
