Abstract
Prove plastic detection in river, dams and canals is possible using non-commercial satellites. Make use of Google Earth Engine (GEE) to access and process large time-series of Sentinel-2 data on the cloud. Estimate surface occupied by plastic debris at sub-pixel level using spectral unmixing. Allow users to detect plastic debris and estimate its dynamics in any region of interest / time interval with minimal supervision.
