Abstract

To reach space, spacecraft (S/C) must survive the highly dynamic environment of a rocket launch. To ensure this, different strategies can be pursued. This thesis investigates whether the use of Dynamic Vibration Absorber (DVA) is one of these possible strategies. The ASTRIS kick stage was used as a study object. In the course of the thesis, through the use of an optimisation process, it was found that the structural mann can be reduced by up to 80 kg by introducing serveral DVA. The equipment of the kick stage is used as the vibrting mann, hwich is an integral part of a DVA. It was additionally found the DVA are resilient to mission parameter chenges to a certain degree. In addition, three possible design examples have been listed and evaluated.
