Mobile Breath Analysis based on Terahertz Gas Spectroscopy

Rothbart, Nick and Schmalz, Klaus and Hübers, Heinz-Wilhelm (2023) Mobile Breath Analysis based on Terahertz Gas Spectroscopy. International Workshop on Mobile Terahertz Systems (IWMTS), 2023-07-03 - 2023-07-05, Bonn, Deutschland. (Unpublished)

Abstract

The analysis of human breath is a very promising method for clinical studies or screenings. Terahertz gas spectroscopy is a very suitable technique for this purpose because many relevant molecules can be identified by their rotational spectra. The key to a successful spread of the method are mobile systems that allow for on-site measurements. We discuss important system aspects for such systems and demonstrate a full-cycle system for breath analysis by terahertz spectroscopy.
