Abstract

DLR took part in numerical simulations and low noise blade optimisation as well as Wind Tunnel support and results analysis. In the course of the numerical simulation and blade optimization, the combination of DLR rotor simulation code S4 and aeroacoustic code APSIM (Aeroacoustic Prediction System based on Integral Method) were used. In addition to ADYN preliminary blade, the detailed results on OPT2D15 blade and its revised version were given in section on ADYN OPT2D15 blade. The results show that the blade with forward sweep geometry shifts the position of maximum acoustic level to higher descent angles. Parameter variations concerning with airfoils shifted inboard and outboard were also carried out.
