Kurzfassung
The keynote at 2nd International Workshop on Digital Twin Engineering (DTE) 2023, part of 16th IFIP WG 8.1 Working Conference on the Practice of Enterprise Modeling (PoEM 2023). In this keynote, practical benefits of virtual commissioning with physics-based systems modeling are explored. Understanding the intricacies of physics-based systems modeling allows for a more accurate and predictable comprehension of systems, contributing to informed decision-making throughout the development cycle. The presentation provides a realistic exploration of how virtual commissioning, coupled with physics-based modeling, allows for the seamless exchange of virtual hardware with real one. This becomes possible by integrating relavant communication interfaces into the physics models. The second segment of the presentation delves into topics such as the development of flight control laws, exploration of human factors research, and the validation process for simulation models with the help of dynamic motion platforms as robot based flight simulators, hexapods and robotic rover wheel testbeds.
