Abstract

To study the boundary layer transition locations on an innovative natural laminar flow forward swept wing of future aircraft configurations, Temperature Sensitive Paint measurements were conducted in the ETW. Tests were performed at various combinations of flight Reynolds and Mach numbers for both steady incidence angles and angle sweeps. Three methods to achieve a temperature difference between the flow and model surface under cryogenic conditions were tested and proven to give nice results.
