Abstract

In this work we use a comparative study of the energy spectra of hydrogen-like boron acceptor, occurring to be the only common, technologically feasible and controllable dopant in all elemental semiconductors: diamond, silicon and germanium. We propose the empiric assignment for different types of intracenter transitions into high excited states of boron, considering the experimentally observed asymptotics to the main quantum number as the main trend for the excited states of an acceptor. The Rydberg-like states of boron in all elemental semiconductors deviate signifcantly from the low-energy states trends, revealing approaching equidistant energy spectra and enhanced oscillator strengths.
