Abstract

This paper gives insight into the aerodynamic design of an HLFC system for the XRF1 long-range wing, performed in the scope of the Clean Sky 2 project HLFC-Win. The suction system, spaning the wing outside the engine position, consists of 4 suction segments, individually pressurized by internal compressors. The work includes the design of the suction skin of variable porosity, estimation of system requirements as well as integrational challenges specific to a wing application. A laminar benefit estimation is conducted using the DLR Tau Code with in-the-loop transition analysis.
