Abstract

To realise the goals of a concurrent design study of a mission concept conforming to agreed requirements and constraints, a shared baseline for defining and modifying the design components and parameters is a key element. At DLR’s Concurrent Engineering Facility (CEF) this is being accomplished by using the Virtual Satellite since 2011. The progression of the design over the study period can be shown by visualizing the regular updates and commits of changes to the model executed by the study team. In this presentation for one design study we give an insight into the total power consumption, the power breakdown by subsystems and some comparative statistics of a subset of 15 Concurrent Engineering studies from our archive.
