Abstract

The study of the fatigue strength analysis of different welded joints in structural steel is a widely researched topic. However, there are still gaps in understanding because of the complexity of the weld geometry. Evaluating the fatigue strength of these welds is a crucial step in the design and maintenance of any structure that will experience cyclic loading. This includes everything from bridges and buildings to aircraft and ships. This is important as it guarantees the structural soundness and safety of the welded structure. It also guarantees that the structure will be able to endure the loads it will be exposed to throughout its lifetime and that it will function as intended without any unforeseen failures, preventing costly repairs and potential safety hazards.
