Abstract

Thrust optimized parabola rocket nozzles can develop restricted shock separation with the associated reattachement. It becomes even more complicated when the nozzles are deformed. Detailed numerical and experimental studies were carried out to investigate the expected flow pattern. The good agreement between numerics and experiment enables reliable predictions.
