Abstract

What is the climate impact of different synthetic fuels, used in passenger cars, light lorries, heavy-duty lorries, ship, and aviation? And what are the costs associated with production and use? In the course of the presentation, these questions will be answered using the two methods life cycle assessment and life cycle costing. The investigation considers the whole life cycle to calculate the total greenhouse gas emissions and the costs associated with the production of the fuels, the use and the environmental costs. It is shown, that the electricity mix is the main lever to reduce both, the costs and the climate impact.
