Abstract

Material card calibration for crash analysis is very important for the virtual design process of vehicle structures. Especially for the crash design of composite structures, a detailed description of the material failure is essential. In the study, an optimization process is described using experimental results of specimens under fixed dynamic loading conditions. It identifies a suitable material description for a pultruded CFRP composite and a structural foam for hybridization. The possibilities and limitations of this approach are outlined and discussed
