Kurzfassung
A numerical model of an Yb:YAG (continouos-wave) thin-disk laser is implemented in Python. The numerical model is based on local laser rate equations regarding a 3D-temperature distribution and amplified spontaneous emission. Transient numerical simulations are performed for thin-disk amplifier and thin-disk oscillator under the variation of the thin disk radius and the laser intensity. A negative correlation of the optical-optical efficieny to the thin disk radius is found, whereas a low saturation by the laser beam promotes the development of amplified spontaneous emission.
