Abstract
Energy management during arrival leaves room for improvement, especially in terms of energy efficiency. A prototype for a novel functionality derived from previous analysis of flight data was developed and evaluated using pilot-in-the-loop real-time simulator trials. The proposed functionality was received well by the participating pilots and showed an improvement of operations regarding noise emission and fuel consumption.
