Abstract

Global warming and advancing urbanization lead to increased heat exposure in cities. Especially during summertime heatwaves, vulnerable people suffer potentially deadly heat risk. This study integrates Citizen Science temperature measurements and area-wide VHR geospatial data in a land use regression approach. We model outdoor and indoor air temperatures at the building level for detailed and city-wide quantification of heat exposure. Such spatial knowledge enables the development of appropriate mitigation measures to effectively protect the health of citizens.
