Abstract
To address emerging research questions in the areas of automated driving and road safety, the Institute of Transportation Systems at the German Aerospace Center developed a human-in-the-loop bicycle simulator that enables the investigation of behaviours and interactions between cyclists and other road users. It is designed to stimulate the visual, proprioceptive, vestibular and auditory sensory systems of the riders and therefore, create an immersive experience.
