Abstract

This communication is intended to provide an overview of the numerical benchmark activities within HOMER, as well as their dissemination perspectives. Datasets all involve a turbulent wall-bounded flow, with spatio-temporal scales reflecting the complexity of flows of interest in aerodynamic and aeroelastic research. The wake flow of a cylinder of diameter 10 mm in ground effect (i.e. embedded in a turbulent boundary layer, with momentum thickness Reynolds number equal to 4,150 at ten diameters upstream of the cylinder), has been simulated using a Monotone Integrated Large Eddy Simulation, using the ONERA HPC code FASTS. Embedded particle propagation (considering passive tracers) has been implemented, using interpolation of the LES velocity at each numerical time step.
