Abstract
Access to planetary mapping projects in German Aerospace Center (DLR) Institute for Planetary Research (PF) is currently not available through any centrally accessible interface. The provision of metadata preserves essential information about the product and its creation process and enables the findability and traceability of the product. For this purpose, this thesis aims to design and implement a metadata model for the use case of planetary mapping for the planet Mars and conceptualize an information system, similar to the spatial data infrastructure Earth Observation Center (EOC) Geoservice allowing to embed the proposed metadata.
