Abstract

The natural laminar flow wing CRM-NLF shows promising numerical and experimental results. This work aims at understanding the aerodynamic characteristics of the CRM-NLF wing under wind-tunnel conditions. The focus of the present paper is put on the impact of static aeroelastic deformation of the model. Furthermore, the effect of turbulent wedges is shown to be significant. Fluid-structure coupled simulations show an impoved agreement with wind-tunnel data made available by NASA when both effects are considered.
