Abstract

The interaction between a longitudinal vortex and an oblique shock was studied numerically. As vortex model, a so-called Erlebacher-Vortex was used. By performing a parameter study, three suitable parameter combinations close to the onset of vortex breakdown were identified and analyzed with a global stability analysis. For each of the parameter combinations, an amplified instability was identified. The resulting eigenvalue spectra and eigenfunctions were compared and discussed.
