Abstract

The PIV and LPT group at the German Aerospace Center in Göttingen has developed a number of advanced particle tracking techniques within the last eight years. Significant improvement have been achieved in terms of the amount of traceable particles, accuracy and computational efficiency. Various post-processing methods have been developed, including the deduction of velocity gradients and pressure fields from discrete particle tracking results. The presentation will give an overview of the developed methods and demonstrate their application to experimental data.
