Abstract

Within the IEA Wind TCP Task 39 co-operational framework, aiming at consolidating knowledge on wind turbine noise for quiet wind turbine technologies, a new benchmark activity has been initiated to expand the available trailing-edge noise data base from the ongoing AIAA/CEAS BANC-Workshop series on Benchmark Problems for Airframe Noise Computations. The goals behind this initiative are to create verified experimental data on trailing-edge noise sources and noise reduction devices (trailing-edge serrations) with applications for the wind turbine industry. Several research facilities (including hybrid, closed and open wind tunnel facilities) are involved in a round robin test, covering a large set of Reynolds numbers and test conditions. The current presentation wraps up the current status of the experimental program.
