Abstract

In this presentation, a novel directly-heated moving bed reactor was developed and the performance of Ca(OH)2 pellets coated with Al2O3 nanostructured particles was investigated. The mechanical stability, cycling stability and foremost the ability to flow of the modified pellets were experimentally examined and the operation of the reactor was successfully demonstrated. Overall, this presentation shows the performance of the storage material in the reactor during the dehydration and hydration experiments and the possible applications for heat storage.
