Abstract
Stereotypes support a high-level software compre-hension by implying roles and responsibilities of classes insoftware systems. We propose the idea of using stereotypes asdesign patterns for serious games to enhance object orientedsoftware comprehension. These design patterns can reduce thecomplexity of software systems and encode software knowledgeinto game mechanics. We provide examples of possible gamemechanics and discuss the application of the proposed designpatterns
