Abstract
The discretization of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations leads to a saddle point problem between the momentum vector and pressure, i.e., the pressure and momentum vectors are decoupled. Traditionally, this decoupling is solved using segregated approaches in which the momentum equations and pressure equations are treated separately with the constraint of obtaining a divergence-free velocity field. In the fully-coupled implicit method, a single block system of equations for the pressure and velocity is solved. Solution of such a coupled system has shown to improve robustness and convergence properties [1-3] and the present work deals with the development of a pressure-based coupled incompressible solver within the fi-nite-volume framework of the CFD software CODA by DLR, Airbus and ONERA.
