Kurzfassung
This document is the yearly report of DLR work package for the year 2004 within the project of Konfigurationen 2020 (K2020), a German funded national project. In this report the landing gear concepts for the Blended Wing Body Aircraft, BWB, one of the aircraft concepts in K2020, are explained. The main objective of the work is to make a conceptual design for the landing gear of the aircraft concept proposed by the project partner, AIRBUS. A conceptual design for the nose landing gear, NLG, and main landing gear, MLG, for the original landing gear concept proposed by AIRBUS has been done and explained. In addition, the conceptual design of alternative landing gears proposed by DLR are illustrated. One alternative MLG and two alternative NLG designs are proposed. The topology and parameter optimization for both MLG concepts are explained, as well as the motivation and objective of the implementation of the optimization. Finally the results of the design and optimization including the future work and milestones are discussed.
