Abstract

SAR acquisition is a well known technique in image processing. Hence, the study in methods that improve the quality of the image or acquire data with characteristics more suitable to the users requirements are useful and frequent topics of study. This thesis studies the implementation of the Sliding Spotlight mode of operation, its characteristics and studies the comportment of the AASR. The objective was reached by the implementation of scripts in Python simulating real scenarios. By using this method it was possible not only understand and evaluate this mode, but also compare it to the traditional Staring Spotlight mode. With this better understanding of the mode and its responses, one can better understand for which scenarios the mode is more suitable and even whether it presents a reasonable performance.
