Abstract

This study thesis is part of a feasability study for a large gossamer solar array of a size of 20 x 20 m2. Atechnology demonstrator of 5 x 5 m2in size is to be built for an in orbit demonstration. Preparationsfor the developement are done within this study thesis. The response of the PV array due to a pretensioning force on the masts is to be examined. Furhter the vibration behaviour depending on themast type, especially its stiffness and the pre tensioning force shall be examined. Favourable optionsfor these parameters shall be found. Additionally the behaviour of the array under static loads is tobe examined. In an accommodation study the approximate sizes and efficiencies of several optionsusing different components and arrangements for the GoSolAr shall be investigated. The aim is tosee how the GoSolAr can be accommodated on a S/C and fit in the payload fairing of a L/V.
