Abstract

This thesis aims to investigate the capabilities of state of the art computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to simulate an experiment regarding the pressurization of a liquid hydrogen cryostat. If good agreement can be achieved the CFD software would allow for an improved understanding and thus more efficient design of cryogenic pressurization subsystems. From this the objective of this thesis is derived, it shall be investigated if CFD can be used to simulate the experiment and achieve accurate results.
