Ground Vibration Tests on Airbus A340-600 Nose and Centre Landing Gears

This test report describes the performance and the results of a ground vibration test performed on the nose and centre landing gears of the Airbus A340-600 aircraft. The tests on the landing gear were performed by DLR within the time frame of the overall aircraft ground vibration test, which was performed by ONERA as prime contractor. The measurement of the landing gear dynamics was required to validate the respective mathematical model, which is necessary to perform dynamic calculations like ride comfort and shimmy. The measurement provided the normal modes and the modal parameters in the frequency range up to 25 Hz including backlash and nonlinearity investigations.
